PlayStation announces an additional 10 virtual reality games that will be released during the PlayStation VR2’s 2023 launch window.
PlayStation has announced 10 more virtual reality games that will be released during the PlayStation VR2‘s 2023 launch window, bringing its current launch window lineup to over 40 games. The PlayStation VR2 is just a day away from officially launching for PlayStation 5, a marked leap forward compared to its PlayStation 4 predecessor. Yet as console fans understand well, a platform is defined by its game library. 10 more games should make the PlayStation VR2 look all the better.
While PlayStation is revealing more and more games for the PlayStation VR2’s launch window, its launch day titles are set. Launch titles include a mix of original games and older titles that have been ported, some with improvements and some without. Highlights include Horizon Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil Village, Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge, Vacation Simulator, NFL Pro Era, and more. What the PlayStation VR2 lacks in massive launch day releases, it’s working to make up in diversity.
The 10 newly announced launch window games for PlayStation VR2 capture that idea, offering a diverse selection of titles that should have something to appeal to all virtual reality enthusiasts. The 10 games include Another Fisherman’s Tale, Gorn, Nock: Bow + Arrow Soccer, Hellsweeper VR, Ragnarock, Runner, Startenders: Intergalactic Bartending, Sushi Ben, Swordsman VR, and Unplugged: Air Guitar. That brings the PlayStation VR2’s launch window lineup to over 40 titles.
PlayStation VR2 New Launch Window Games
- Another Fisherman’s Tale
- Nock: Bow + Arrow Soccer
- Hellsweeper VR
- Startenders: Intergalactic Bartending
- Sushi Ben
- Swordsmen VR
- Unplugged: Air Guitar
As mentioned, it’s the diversity of these new virtual reality game announcements for PlayStation VR2 that stands out. Another Fisherman’s Tale is a fantastical adventure, Gorn and Swordsman VR both offer brutally violent melee combat, Nock: Bow + Arrow Soccer is a competitive multiplayer VR experience, while Ragnarock and Unplugged: Air Guitar offer unique musical experiences. Many of the other games are difficult to summarize briefly.
To be clear, the “launch window” for the PlayStation VR2 is a very broad timeframe. Some of these 10 new games are going to be available on launch day, including Ragnarock, Runner, Startenders: Galactic Bartending, and Unplugged: Air Guitar. Others will launch in March. The remaining are listed simply as launching in 2023.
By no means are the currently announced PlayStation VR2 titles all that will be released in 2023. Sony has already confirmed that it will be revealing 5 more PlayStation VR2 titles during a new PlayStation State of Play event on Thursday. More VR titles are certain to come later this year, as well. PlayStation VR2 early adopters will hopefully be content with what Sony has put together for the year to come.
The PlayStation VR2 launches on February 22 for PS5.
